Ruby Irene Curtis, 78, of Mattoon, IL, passed away 9:15 p.m., Sunday, November 23, 2014, at Palm Terrace Nursing Home, Mattoon, IL. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 26, 2014, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL, with visitation one hour prior to service time at the funeral home. Burial will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery, Mt. Zion, IL. Memorials may be made to Catholic Charities, Decatur, IL. Ruby was born July 29, 1936 in Decatur, IL, the daughter of Clarence and Eva Florence (Montonye) Austin. She married Thomas J. Curtis on August 1, 1952 in Decatur, IL and he preceded her in death. Ruby enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She is survived by her daughters Christina Renshaw and husband Mark of Decatur, IL, Brenda Curtis of Cincinnati, OH, Jill Scribner of Mt. Zion, IL; 6 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and son James Preston Curtis. The family would like to give special thanks to the staff of Palm Terrace and to Greg Fitzgerald. "
