CUSTOM DEATH NOTICERoy Edward Shobe, Jr., 81, of Decatur, IL died Friday, August 28, 2009 at Lincoln Manor, Decatur, IL.Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2009 in Boiling Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be One Hour before service at the Brintlinger & Earl Funeral Home.In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the Alzheimers Association, 2921 Greenbrair Dr., Suite C, Springfield, IL 62704-6440.Mr. Shobe was born August 4, 1928 at Blue Ridge,IL, the son of Roy Edward & Lillian Grace (Warnick) Shobe. He married Estelle Gass August 9,1946, she preceded him in death.Roy retired from Caterpillar Tractor Co., where he worked as a millwright for twenty-five years. He enjoyed gardening, woodworking, fixing things and was an avid St. Louis Cardinal Fan. Mr. Shobe was a WW II and Korean War U. S. Navy Veteran.He is survived by three children: Jacqueline Wrigley of Decatur, Roy Edward Shobe III and wife Amy of Decatur and David Lee Shobe and wife Shirley of Tuscon, Ariz. Grandchildren: John Eric Wrigley of Chicago, Timonthy Franklin Wrigley and wife Cathy of Frankfort, IL, Rebecca Lynn Dunscomb and husband Justin of Forsyth, IL, Stephanie Michelle Ater and husband Chris of Cerro Gordo, IL, Russell Edward Shobe and wife Amber of Decatur and Jaime ( Shobe ) Brown of Decatur and nine great-grandchildren. Four sisters: Lillian Ashley of Farmer City, IL Mildred Barnett and Mary Bartosik both of Heyworth, IL and Joan Hendrix of Bloomington, IL. One brother: Frank Shobe of Bloomington, IL.Mr. Shobe was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one son; Jerry Lynn, one sister; Helen Ashley, one brother; John Shobe, grandson; Bryan Shobe, and son-in-law John P.
