Roy Elmer Morgret, 85, of Decatur, died Saturday, April 23, 2011, at Decatur Memorial Hospital.Funeral Mass will be 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, April 27, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. Visitation will be 5-7 P.M. Tuesday, April 26, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home. Casual attire is requested. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery with military rites conducted by Macon County Honor Guard. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Macon County Honor Guard or Our Lady of Lourdes School.Mr. Morgret was born February 26, 1926, the son of Elmer O. and Mary Lee (Goodwin) Morgret. He married Irene Goldstein in Decatur on November 14, 1944. Mr. Morgret was a manager at Haas Bakery in Henry, Illinois. He was a WWII Army veteran and a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.Mr. Morgret is survived by his children: Carol Yarnell of Manitowoc, WI, Steven Morgret (Sue Hale) of Decatur, Mary Johnson (Mark) of Latham, and Brenda Morgret; brother Ray Morgret and wife Louise of Decatur; special nephew Sid Tucker and several nieces and nephews; six grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his parents, wife of 61 years Irene, and sisters Dorothy Bradford and Eloise Pritts.A special thank you to the staff at DMH ER and 4th floor for their excellent care of dad.
