Roy D. Isaacs, 70, of Decatur, IL, passed away Sunday, September 24, 2017, at McKinley Court Care Center, Decatur, IL.Funeral services will be 12:00 noon, Saturday, September 30, 2017, at First Lutheran Church, Decatur, with visitation two hours prior to service time at the church. Burial will be in Camp Butler National Cemetery, Springfield, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cancer Care Specialists of Central IL, or First Lutheran Church.Roy was born February 16, 1947 in Decatur, IL, the son of Daniel Franklin and Addie Marie (Hamlin) Isaacs. He married Janice Redenius on May 3, 1975 in Carthage, IL and to this union were born David, Adam, and Patricia.Roy was a member of First Lutheran Church, Decatur. He worked as a Maintenance of Way Supervisor for Norfolk & Southern Railroad. Roy enjoyed fishing and hunting and was a member of Golden K Kiwanis. He proudly served his country as a U.S. Marine, serving in Vietnam.He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Janice of Decatur; children David (Kim) Isaacs of Roanoke, VA, Adam Isaacs of Roanoke, VA, Patricia (Brian) Ford of Stonington, Robert Isaacs of Mattoon, Candice Potter of Effingham; 7 grandchildren; brothers Tommy Isaacs of Eugene, OR, Jerry (Diana) Isaacs of Cicero, IL, B.J. (Bonnie) Isaacs of Parma, OH; sister Delores (Anthony) Bachmura of Valencia, CA.He was preceded in death by his parents, son Roy David Isaacs; granddaughter Maya Elizabeth. "
