Roxann Shadrick

Roxann Shadrick, age 49, has ended her lengthy battle with breast cancer on Thursday, August 30, 2012. At this time, no visitation or burial services will be held, per Ms. Shadrick's final wishes. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family to help cover final expenses. Thanks to Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL, for excellent services in preparation for cremation. Roxann was born in Decatur, IL, on March 11, 1963 to John G. and Leola L. (Cook) Shadrick. She was a graduate of Lakeview High in Decatur, IL. She is survived by her life partner of 17 years, Cheri E. Newman; sisters Patricia Braden of Missouri, Jan Barnard of Mt. Zion, Illinois; and four nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her beloved pets - the Kitten Club gang and her dog Gem. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Mark. The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Velasco of CCS, his nursing staff, and Kim, Kelly, Karen, Kathy, Heather, Leeann and Ann in Infusion Therapy. You all helped to make a very difficult period in our lives a bit easier to bear. Also, to the ICU West at DMH - thanks for the excellent care you gave Roxann and for the compassion and support given to me. You will always be in my prayers. "
