Rosemary was born on December 19, 1942 in Mt. Vernon, IL, the daughter of Lowell and Wilma (Warner) Cooper. She was raised in Mt. Vernon and moved to Decatur as a teen and graduated from Eisenhower High School in 1960. She married Charles “Chuck” Woollen on July 25, 1965 at Boiling Springs Church of God in Decatur. Rosemary worked at Federal Kemper Insurance prior to raising her family and she was an active member of the Decatur Jayettes in the late 60’s through the 70’s. Rosemary worked 40 plus years at the Clinton Power Station, most recently as a timekeeper and clerk for the Maintenance Dept. At CPS, she served many years as the Secretary of the Employees Club. Rosemary lived life to the fullest. She was an avid “foodie”, loved travel and adventure and was always expanding her interests, like her newfound fondness of Turkish soap operas (with subtitles). Rosemary was a longtime member of Grace Baptist Church where over the years she served as a Sunday school teacher and worked in the nursery. Rosemary will be remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother and faithful and loyal friend to many.
Surviving are her children: Scott (Tiffany) Woollen, Melissa Bajric, and Chad Woollen, all of Decatur. Rosemary was united in Heaven with her parents and husband, Chuck Woollen. May her legacy of love and service live on, we will miss you mom until we meet again.
