Rose Marie Nihiser, 83, life long resident of Decatur, IL, returned to the Lord on Wednesday, June 24, 2015. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Sunday, June 28, 2015, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, with visitation one hour prior to service time at the funeral home. Burial will be in Macon County Memorial Park, Harristown, IL. Memorials may be made to Zion Chapel in Boody, IL. Rose was born May 30, 1932, in her home in Decatur, IL, the daughter of Chester Phillip and Neva Harriet (Phipps) Boyle. Rose graduated from Decatur High School in 1951. On March 18, 1951 she married Ronald Eugene Nihiser, Sr. in Decatur. From that union 5 children were born. Rose was a loving and caring mother and grandmother. Rose was a member of Zion Chapel in Boody, IL. She worked for a couple of years at Richland Community College as a clerical staff. Rose was a member of a Bunco Club for 40 years, loved to take bus trips to the gambling boats, enjoyed ceramics and painting, knitting and crocheting. Surviving are her husband of 64 years, Ronald Eugene of Decatur, IL; children Kathy Jean Miller of Rockford, Jeffrey Lynn Nihiser and wife Sherri of Decatur, Tina Marie Young and husband Jim of Peoria; sister Barbara Ann Henneberry of Dalton City; grandchildren Joshua Wayne Nihiser of Decatur, Kristopher David Miller and wife Colleen of Katy, TX, Amy Rene (Young) Fitzgerald and husband Brian of Washington, IL, Alyssa Marie Young and fiancé Tyler Broom of Lafayette, Colorado, Kassandra Dianne Miller of Decatur, Matthew Adam Nihiser of Decatur; great grandchildren Ashlyn Irene and Tyler Allen Miller of Katy, TX. Rose was preceded in death by her parents, sons Dennis Wayne Nihiser and Ronald Eugene Nihiser, Jr.; siblings Edward Raymond Boyle and Retha May Schenkel; paternal grandparents Owen and Mary (Linville) Boyle and maternal grandparents Charles C. and Jennie May (Mackey) Phipps.
