Ron Burns, 56, passed away on February 24, 2024, in Cerro Gordo, Illinois surrounded by his family. Born on April 21, 1967, in Urbana, Illinois, to Robert and Cecelia Burns.
Ron was a hardworking man throughout his life, with a loyal dedication to his family. He cherished spending time with his loved ones, especially during the holidays. An avid car enthusiast, Ron enjoyed working on his family-owned racecar with his son and maintaining all family vehicles. He was known for his caring nature, always ensuring that those around him were well taken care of and provided for.
In his career, Ron worked at Caterpillar and Mueller Company. Outside of work, he found joy in playing cards with his family, watching UFC, racing, and football.
Ron is survived by his beloved wife, Jody Burns; parents, Robert and Cecelia Burns; sister, Tina Burns McCombs; brother, Michael (Johanna) Burns; sons, Ronnie (Hillary) Burns, Anthony Hunter, Nathan Bohannon, Blain (Teasia) Burns; daughters, Latoria Burns, and Audrie Burns; grandchildren, Ashlee Hunter, A.J. Hunter, Sylvie Burns, and a grandson expected in April. Loyal companion and best friend Lola Bear.
A Memorial Service to honor Ron's life will be held at 6:00 PM on Thursday, February 29, 2024 at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Homes in Decatur, Illinois. A Memorial Visitation will be held prior from 5:00 PM – 6:00 PM on Thursday, February 29, 2024. The funeral home has been entrusted with the arrangements for his final farewell.
