Ronald Rhoades

Ronald W. Rhoades, 69, of Decatur, passed away October 6, 2020 at his home. Graveside service will held at a later date at Camp Butler Cemetery, Springfield, with military honors. Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Homes, Decatur, is assisting the family. Memorials in Ron’s honor may be made to the Animal Protective League, 1001 Taintor Rd. Springfield, IL 62702. Ron was born July 1, 1951 in Decatur, the son of Jesse Fredrick “Fred” and Viola Alice (Sharp) Rhoades. He graduated from Lakeview High School in the class of 1969. Ron proudly served our country in the United States Marines and United States Army. He married Laura Brincken on September 3, 2011 in Decatur. Ron was a pipefitter working for Pipefitters Local #188. He enjoyed gardening and fishing and loved animals. Ron was a member of First United Methodist Church of Decatur. He is survived by his wife of 9 years, Laura; sons, Randy Rhoades of Peoria, Kyle Rhoades of Decatur, and Jason Rhoades of West Peoria; brothers, Karel (Maria) Rhoades of Decatur, and Robert (Susan) Rhoades of Argenta. Ron was preceded in death by his parents. "
