Ronald E. Moody, 74, of Mt. Zion, IL, passed away Thursday, November 7, 2019, at St. Mary’s Hospital, Decatur. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 12, 2019 at Macon County Memorial Park, Decatur. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m., Monday, November 11, 2019 at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur. Memorials may be made to Wounded Warriors Project. Ronald was born October 04, 1945, in Decatur, Illinois, the son of Thomas H. and Zelma Evelyn (Kretsinger) Moody. He married Karen Satterfield on February 7, 1969. Ronald worked at Firestone from 1970 to 1980 and Purity Baking Company from 1985 to 1995. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, and races at Macon Speedway. He was a U.S. Army Vietnam veteran. He is survived by his wife, Karen of 50 years, sons Shannon Moody and wife Ann of Sheboygan, WI, Thomas Moody and wife Lana of Mt. Zion, IL, daughter Latana Moody of Mt. Zion, IL, Dog Daughter Missy Mae, grandchildren Kaci Espiritu of Sheboygan, WI, Nicklaus Moody, of Sheboygan, WI, John (Sara) Six, of Decatur, IL, Brittney (Aaron) John of Sullivan, IL, Brianna Rickman of Sheboygan, WI, Matthew Moody of Mt. Zion, IL, Zachariahe Lilly of Mt. Zion, IL, Josh Lilly of Decatur, IL, Grandson-in-law Luis Espiritu of Blue Mound, IL, and 16 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his biological father Vern Edwin Myers, his parents, Zelma Moody and adoptive father Thomas Moody, and granddaughter Angela Reiss. The family would like to express their utmost gratitude to Ron’s 4th floor nurses, caregivers, doctors, and especially Dr. Sherry Reid and the Cardiac Care unit at St. Mary’s Hospital.
