Ronald "Ron" E. Maple, Sr., 74, of Oakley, IL, died 12:42 a.m., Thursday, September 19, 2013, at Lincoln Rehabilitation Center, Decatur, IL. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, September 23, 2013, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL, with visitation from 9:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the family. Ronald was born January 30, 1939 in Decatur, IL, the son of William Henry and Margery Odelia (Hedrick) Maple. He married Carolyn F. Fulk on July 10, 1960 in Decatur, IL. Ronald retired from Christy-Foltz with over 30 years of service and was a member of Teamsters Union #279. He attended Oakley Brick Church and was a U.S. Army veteran. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Carolyn of Oakley; children Ronald "Gene" Maple, Jr. of Florida, Steven Maple of Mahomet, IL, Bryan (Christina) Maple of Cerro Gordo, IL, Misty (Tim) Arndt of Decatur, IL; granddaughters Melissa and Hillary Maple, of Decatur, IL, who Ron and Carolyn raised as their own children;7 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren; sister Judy (Steve) Miller of Mt. Zion, IL; brothers Joe (Margie) Maple of LaPort, TX, Les (Redonda) Maple of Hugo, OK; sister-in-law Janet (Richard) Shobe of Champaign, IL; brother-in-law Kenneth (Jennifer) Fulk of Virginia; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and five brothers. "
