Ronald Lee Grossman, 70, of Sullivan, IL, formerly of Niantic, IL, departed this life at 9:05 a.m. Tuesday, March 27, 2012, at East View Terrace Nursing Home, with his family by his side. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 31, at Brintlinger & Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, officiated by Pastor Renner, with visitation from 10:00 a.m until service time. Burial will be at Long Point Cemetery, Niantic, IL. Donations in Ron's memory may be made to East View Terrace Nursing Home, Sullivan, IL or First United Methodist Church, Sullivan, IL. Ron was born in Riverton, IL, September 19, 1941, to Ralph and Kathryn (Morris) Grossman. He was a beloved brother and loved his family. Ron was an avid Cardinal fan and dearly loved his Dr. Pepper. Ron is survived by brothers: Jerry Grossman of Jonesburg, MO, Butch Grossman of Decatur, IL, Bob Grossman of Champaign, IL, and Steve (Dee) Grossman of Houston, TX; sisters: Joyce (Darrell) Church of Stonington, IL, Carolyn Etchison of Decatur, IL, Sharon (Dick) Goers, of Decatur, IL, Karen Hagaman of Decatur, IL, Janice (Wesley) Blackwell of Mechanicsburg, IL, Jane (Roger) Downs of Decatur, IL, sister-in-law Delores Grossman of Decatur, IL, special Aunt Virginia Vantrump of Carrollton, MO, along with a host of nieces and nephews. Ron was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Larry, Gary, Harold, and Dennis, sister Gloria Basil, sisters-in-law Patricia Grossman and Sharon (Kapper) Grossman, and brother-in-law Bud Etchison. A special thanks to the nurses and staff at East View Terrace Nursing Home, Harbor Light Hospice, Pastor Renner, special friends Sharon (Terry) Warren, and Jim (Virginia) Darnell, and Ron's church friends at First United Methodist Church in Sullivan. Ron never knew a stranger. He will be greatly missed by family and friends. "
