Ron was an outgoing man who couldnt go anywhere without seeing people he knew. His friendly and caring nature, and his constant willingness to share a moment, earned him a wide circle of devoted friends. He was a talented artist who loved to draw, paint, and carve. He was a founding member of the Gallery 510 Arts Guild Ltd. Ron also loved to fish and travel with Laura.Rons survivors include wife Laura Brown of Decatur; mother and step-father Betty and Joe Langston of Springfield; sister Dorothy and husband Charlie Beeman of Springfield; step-sister Linda and husband Richard Parsons of Orlando, Florida; son Ronald Hap Brown II of Herrin; daughter Ericka and husband James Lanksford of Huntingdon, Tennessee; daughter Blair and husband Scott Edsall of Chicago; step-son Matt Blickensderfer of Cincinnati, Ohio; step-son Drew and wife Candice Blickensderfer of Terrell, North Carolina; grandsons Treigh and Isaac Brown; granddaughters Breeana and Alexis Lanksford; and step-grandchildren Viktoria and Slater McCray; and special pet Gracie who was his constant companion.Rons father, Clifford Brown, preceded him in death. The family would like to extend their gratitude to Drs. Velasco and Dimondo and their caring staffs; the wonderful people at Cancer Care Specialists of Central Illinois, especially Cindy Schuster; the Administration and 4th floor staff at St. Marys Hospital; Rons angel hospice nurse, Lynn Berner; Rons cousin and buddy Don Tankersley and his wife, Brenda; and Rons special friends Helen and Jerry Kennedy, who provided so much support.Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 30 from 4 until 8 p.m. at Brintlinger & Earl Funeral Home, 2827 North Oakland Avenue, Decatur. Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 31, at 1 p.m. at Central Christian Church, 650 West William Street, Decatur.
