Ronald H. Bauman, 90, of Decatur, IL, passed away Monday, June 26, 2017, at Imboden Creek Living Center, Decatur, IL.Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m., Friday, June 30, 2017, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL. Graveside services and burial will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 1, at Rutland Cemetery, Rutland, IL.Memorials may be made to American Legion Post #105, 1535 Legion Drive, Decatur, IL 62521 or Rutland Cemetery Association, 303 S. Hickory, Dana, IL 61321.Ron was born June 20, 1927, in Arlington Heights, IL, the son of Harmie Theodore and Frances (Bunn) Bauman. He married Wilma Jean Harms on November 5, 1950 in Rutland, IL. She preceded him in death in 1987.Ron started driving trucks for UPS, eventually becoming a supervisor in Decatur, and retired as a Chief of Vehicle Inspection for the State of Illinois Department of Transportation. He enjoyed sports, golfing, was an avid Cubs fan, and loved spending time with his family, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Ron was an Inaugural member and Past Commander of Rutland American Legion Post #1121 and member of American Legion Post #105 in Decatur. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army in WWII in the European Theatre.He is survived by his sons Jerry (Judy) Bauman of Naperville, IL, Robert (Deborah) Bauman of Mars, PA; grandchildren Nikole (Robert) Zurek of Pearland, TX, Andrew (Pamela) Bauman of Bartlett, IL, Gregory Bauman of Naperville, IL, Lisa (Cecilio) Martinez of Cranberry Twp., PA, Tracy (Brian) Gates of Chicago, IL, Kevin Bauman of Naperville, IL; and 7 great grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Wilma, and brother Floyd T. Bauman. "
