Roger Hirsch

Roger Dean Hirsch, 83, of Decatur, IL, died Monday, November 5, 2012, at Decatur Memorial Hospital, Decatur, IL. Graveside services will be 2:00 P.M., Friday, November 9, 2012, at Cerro Gordo Cemetery, Cerro Gordo, IL. Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Cerro Gordo, IL will be handling the arrangements. Roger was born August 20, 1929 in LaPlace, IL, the son of Ida Otto and Mildred (Cripe) Hirsch. He married Zelma Marie Hale. Roger graduated from Cerro Gordo H.S. in 1947 and then worked for Bridgestone/Firestone as a tire builder for many years. He was an avid book reader and St. Louis Cardinal fan. He is survived by his daughters Rebecca Hirsch and Brenda Gaultney, both of Decatur, IL; grandchildren Megan Cornell of Galveston, TX, Brandy Gaultney and Jessica Gaultney, both of Decatur, IL; great grandchildren Rosemary Wooddell, Vince Wooddell, Violet Cornell, Rylee Creason; special friend Fern Tipsword of McMinville, TN. He was preceded in death by his parents, former spouse Zelma, brothers Louis Hirsch and "Jack" John Hirsch, and nephew Rick Hirsch. "
