Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 5, 2010 at Brintlinger & Earl Funeral Home in Decatur. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Monday, January 4, with Masonic rites at 8:00 p.m. by Ionic Lodge #312, at the funeral home. Burial will be at Friends Creek Cemetery, north of Argenta. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Argenta-Oreana Fire Protection District in care of the Gerber Bank in Argenta. Mr. Williams was born on November 23, 1930, in Decatur, Illinois, the son of Oscar James and Annie Pauline Stackhouse Williams. He married Genevieve Hodge on October 28, 1956. Whitey was a Captain on the Decatur Fire Department, an auctioneer, and had a number of small businesses over the years, most recently Builders Salvage in Farmer City, IL. He was a 32nd degree Master Mason, and a Grand Lecturer Emeritus. He was also a lifelong Cubs fan. Surviving are Whitey's wife Genevieve, son, Scott Williams, and his wife, Pamela of Oreana, son, Toby, and wife Yoshimi of Tokyo, and daughter, Tammy, and her husband Mark Allen of Argenta. He also leaves behind Linda, Robert and Barbara Cooper of Decatur. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Nicole, Gregory, Jacob, and Toma, and four great-grandchildren, as well as many treasured nieces and nephews.He is preceded in death by his parents, a sister and five brothers, and a very special nephew, James Cooper.
