Robert Strahle

Robert Strahle, 80, of Macon, IL, died Sunday, September 9, 2012, at St. Mary's Hospital, Decatur, IL. Cremation rites will be accorded. A Memorial Gathering will be 11:00 A.M., Saturday, September 15, 2012, at 21 North Shaw Ct. in Macon, IL. Memorials may be made to South Macon Rescue Squad. Robert was born May 10, 1932 in Decatur, IL, the son of Adolph and Nora Alice (McFetridge) Strahle. He married Nelda Sheets on March 5, 1955. Robert was owner/operator of Strahle Builders for 25 years. He previously worked for Seymour Homes and enjoyed woodworking and clock building. Robert was a U.S. Army veteran. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Nelda of Macon, IL; daughter Susan Strahle of Macon, IL; son Bill Strahle of Sherman, IL; grandson Sam Strahle of Sherman, IL; sisters Eleanor Schroat and Eunice Kerwood, both of Decatur, IL; brother Earl Strahle of California. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters Caroline Gaither and Adeline Bright, and brother Ralph Strahle. Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL, will be assisting the family with arrangements. "
