Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, May 12, 2009, at Northwest Christian Church, Decatur, IL. Visitation will be 4 to 8 P.M., Monday, May 11, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL. Burial will be in Mackville Cemetery, Atwood, IL.Memorials may be made to the Robert Lewis Smith College Fund, c/o Busey Bank, 2505 N. Water, Decatur, IL 62526 for Ethan and Patrick or to the American Cancer Society.Dr. Smith was born March 25, 1961, in Decatur, IL, the son of Robert Vern and Vevalee (Lewis) Smith. He married Katherine Ann Parker on October 2, 1993 in Atwood, IL.Dr. Smith was a member of Northwest Christian Church. He graduated from Millikin University and SIU School of Medicine. He practiced at Rock Springs Family Medical Center. Dr. Smith was Chief Medical Officer at St. Marys Hospital and Medical Director at Millikin University. He was a member of the American Academy of Family Practice and the Royal Aires Drum and Bugle Corps.He is survived by his wife Kathy of Decatur, IL; children Ethan Hunter Smith and Patrick Alexander Smith, both living at home; parents Robert V. and Vevalee Smith of Atwood, IL.He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
