Robert Nix

Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M., Thursday, December 24, 2009, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL, with visitation one hour prior to service time. Burial will be in Maroa Cemetery, Maroa, IL. Memorials may be made to American Heart Association.Robert was born March 16, 1921, in Bement, IL, the son of Valentine S. and Vera (Roberts) Nix. He married Audrey Jump in June 1946 and she preceded him in death. He later married Dorothy Luckenbill on March 14, 1977. Robert was a truck driver for Transport Service and was a member of the Teamsters Local #126. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving in WWII.Robert is survived by his wife Dorothy of Decatur, IL; daughter Darlene K. Nix of Decatur, IL; son Bruce E. (Marsha) Nix of Monticello, IL; granddaughter Carly Nix of Urbana, IL; stepdaughter Judith E. DeBerry of Milwaukee, WI; brothers Roy B. (Vada) Nix of Attica, MI, Kenneth W. (Kathy) Nix of Seville, OH, Warren K. (Bertha) Nix of Emden, MI, Larry V. (Janet) Nix of Maroa, IL.He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Ray and Donald, sisters Marie and June. "
