Robert James McClure, 89, of Forsyth, passed away Saturday, August 3, in St. Mary's Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday August 7, 2013 at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur. Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home Wednesday. Burial will be in Boiling Springs Cemetery. Robert was born February 17, 1924 in Piatt County, the son of Robert H. and Pluma (Ramsey) McClure. He married Wanda Kirkland on May 19, 1944. She preceded him in death on August 3, 1980. He married Alice Fristoe Kirkland on March 21, 1991, she survives. Robert was a retired farmer, having farmed for many years in Monticello and Warrensburg areas. Most recently he helped his sons farm by driving the combine during harvest. He was a member of Boiling Springs Church of God and the Farm Bureau. He was a master woodworker, making many beautiful pieces of furniture for family and friends. Robert is survived by sons: Michael (Judy) of Decatur, Patrick (Carolyn) of Forsyth; daughter, Diana (Doug) Sando of Ocean Springs, MS; step-sons: Charles "Skip" (Jennifer) Kirkland of Mahomet and William (Linda) Kirkland of Murfreesboro, TN; six grandchildren: Bill, Jennifer, Brandon, Stefanie, Karen and Shannon; three step-grandchildren: Justin, Chris and Lyndsey; seven great-grandchildren: Grace, Kayla, Sidney, Parker, Max, Caleb, and Patrick; five step-great grandchildren Travis, Aubrey, Dexter, Christian, and Kinzy; brothers: Larry (Shirley) of Monticello and Harry (Mary Ellen) of Gibson City, and sister Bonnie Jean of Arizona. He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters: L. Eloise, Lucille, and Betty. Robert was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather and will be deeply missed by all who loved and knew him. Memorials may be made to Boiling Springs Church of God or charity of choice. "
