CUSTOM DEATH NOTICE Robert Henry Luka, Sr., 84, of Long Creek, IL., went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday (08-24-2009) at 1:23 A.M., surrounded by his family.Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Thursday (08-27-2009) at Antioch Christian Church, with visitation on Wednesday (08-26-2009) from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home. Burial will be at Point Pleasant Cemetery. Military rites will be conducted by the Macon County Honor Guard. Brintlinger & Earl Funeral Home are handling the arrangements.Memorials may be made to: Antioch Christian Church.Bob was born on February 11, 1925 in Decatur, IL., the son of William F. Luka and Emma Schimanski. He married Beverly Delores Evans on September 28, 1947 in Long Creek, IL. She preceded him in death on September 20, 2005.He was a veteran of the Army Air Corps during WWII serving in North Africa.Bob attended Antioch Christian Church., worked at A.E. Staley, Van Zetti Bakery, also pastored for over fifty years and loved to play his harmonica.He is survived by his children: Joseph A. Luka and wife Becky and Bob Luka Jr. and wife Cindy both of Long Creek, IL., Susan Acklin and husband David of Mt. Zion, IL., Cathy Redding of Cerro Gordo, IL., Larry Luka and wife Ann of Decatur, IL., Ruth Race and husband Philip of Decatur, IL..; eleven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters: Betty Wall, Helen Entler, both of Decatur, IL., Raymond Luka and wife Pat of Blue Mound, IL., John Luka and wife Mary Ann of Springfield, IL., Mary Pruss of Wenatchee, WA. Alma Bailey of Rushville, IN., Fred Luka and wife Margo of Stilesville, IN., Paul Luka of Thomasville, GA.
