Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, January 27, at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church, with visitation one hour prior to services at the church and also from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, January 26, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, Decatur.Memorials may be made to Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church.Mr. Karloski was born in Decatur on May 7, 1922, the son of Herman and Mamie (Salogga) Karloski. Upon graduation from Decatur High School in mid-year of 1942, he was employed at A.E. Staley Company. In October of 1942, he enlisted into the Army Air Corps and served with the 2nd Weather Reconnaissance Squadron as a prop specialist on the B-25D. He was stationed overseas in India, flying the Himalayan Mountains into China, returning to the States in 1945. Bob returned to Staleys as an electrician, retiring in 1987 after 45 years of service. He married Norma Jean Shepan on September 4, 1949, and spent many years traveling the country with his family during summer vacations. Bob was a member of Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church where he was involved with the Mens Club, and Property and Maintenance Committee. He enjoyed reading, music, and his cars.Surviving are his wife, Norma, of Decatur, daughters Mary Ellen of OFallon, Illinois, and Peggy Ann and husband Randy of Lincoln; brother Walter and wife Annalee of Decatur; sister Ruth of Carlinville; brother-in-law Melvin Thomas of Wellsville, Missouri; grandsons Christopher and wife Kamy of Pensacola, Florida and Bradley of Lincoln; great-grandson Kenzie of Pensacola; plus many nieces and nephews.Bob was preceded in death by his parents and sister Helen (Karloski) Thomas.
