Robert Harmon

Robert O. Harmon, Sr., 86, passed suddenly peacefully on July 21, 2015, at White Oaks at Heritage Woods, South Elgin, IL. Graveside services will be 10:30 A.M. Friday, July 24, 2015, at Macon County Memorial Park, Harristown, IL, with military rites conducted by Macon County Honor Guard. Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home is handling the arrangements. Robert was born May 28, 1929, in Decatur, the son of Charles and Ella Harmon. He married Alta Joan Cunningham. She preceded him in death. Robert was in the Air Force for 4 years as Sargent, and served 3 years in Japan and one year in the states during the Korean War. He was the owner of the Standard Gas Station for 10 years at the Wycles corner. He also worked for PPG for 20 years and sold real estate for Century 21 until he retired. Robert was a member of the United Baptist Church in Decatur. He will be missed by his family, including devoted son Robert, of South Elgin, IL; grandson Ben (wife Becca), 4 great grandchildren: Maddie, Emma, Sophie, Grace, grandson Zach (wife Emily), siblings: Charles and Donna of Decatur, Gene and Alice of Xenia, IL, Howard of Farina, IL, and Martha of Minden, NV. Robert was preceded in death by his wife Alta Joan, daughter Patricia Ann, daughter-in-law Barbara, and sisters, Velma and Anna. "
