Robert T. Harlow, 81, of Decatur, passed away peacefully on May 29, 2025 at Springfield Memorial Hospital.

Private family services will be held.  Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Homes, Decatur, is assisting the family.

Robert was born April 16, 1944 in Mt Vernon, IL the son of Lester and Irene Harlow.  He was a proud veteran who served our country in the US Army and lived a life defined by hard work and dedication.  He was truck driver by trade by a man of many hats, always willing to lend a hand, share a laugh, or tell a story from the road.

Robert liked watching NASCAR-  cheering for Dale Earnhardt, Jr. - and spending countless weekends watching races and reminiscing with his buddies.  He enjoyed time with his family most of all, especially spoiling his grandkids. He was a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather whose strength and humor left a lasting impression on everyone he met.

He was a proud member of the Moose Lodge, the Eagles, the Masonic Lodge #8, Ansar Shriners and several other organizations throughout his life, always committed to community and the friends he surrounded himself with that loved him dearly.

Surviving are his children: Robert (Emily) Harlow of Troy, IL and Lisa Kornewald of Mt. Zion; grandchildren: Christian Harlow, Alexandra (Chris) McKenzie, Casey (Stephen) Bess, Dustin (Chelsea) Kornewald and Russell Henderson, Jr.; great-grandchildren: Ian, Luca, Callie, Hayden, Wynter, Corbin, Keyli, Rohan, Zach, Delilah and Easton; and sisters: Joyce Morris and Marilyn Keele.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, John Harlow.
