Robert Hall

Robert Oscar Hall (93) of Decatur, IL passed away Monday February 24th at 10:30 a.m. in his home. Mr. Hall was born December 22nd 1926 in Decatur, Illinois. He enlisted with the Marine Corps in 1944 and served with the 2nd Marine Corps Division in the Mariana Islands, during World War II. Returning to Decatur after his service, he met and married the love of his life Helen M. Ethridge. Mr. Hall also began his career at this time, with the Wabash Railroad and ultimately retired from Norfolk & Southern after 41 years of service. He was an active member of the American Legion Association and Veterans of Foreign Wars. Surviving are his wife of 72 years, Mrs. Helen M. Hall of Decatur, IL; son Robert W. Hall of Kansas City, MO; and sister Shirley (Baum) McMillen of Decatur, IL. Private family services will be held at a later date.
