Robert W. Greenwood, 40, of Oakley, IL passed away suddenly Sunday, June 11, 2017, at Decatur Memorial Hospital.Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, June 16, 2017, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL, with visitation 5 to 8 p.m., Thursday, June 15, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL. Burial will be in Cross Cemetery, Oakley, IL. Memorials may be made to his children’s education fund, c/o State Bank of Cerro Gordo, P.O. Box 440, Cerro Gordo, IL 61818.Robert was born August 13, 1976 in Decatur, IL the son of Diane Sue (Hoehn) Greenwood. He married Deborah Day on May 8, 1999 in Cerro Gordo, IL.Robbie was a loving, devoted husband and father with a giving heart and cherished by many. Although he loved his family dearly, he especially loved helping others. His main passion was coaching his two sons in football and baseball as well as helping others learn to love sports. He was recently named as an Assistant Coach to the CGB Broncos football team and was looking forward to the upcoming season. He was a lifelong fan of the CG Broncos, Chicago Bears, NASCAR, and watching his sons play sports.Robbie was a Lead Warehouseman at Negwer Materials for 19 years. He was a member of the Brethren Church of Cerro Gordo and a member of the Sons of the American Legion Post 117.He is survived by his adoring wife of 18 years and sons Brady (16) and Devon (9) Greenwood, all of Oakley, IL; mother Diane Greenwood of Oakley, IL; sister Kim (Brandon) Hartzog of Decatur, AL, grandfather Eugene Timmerman; mother-in-law Lois Day; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and many, many loving friends.He was preceded in death by his grandmother Marilyn Timmerman, uncle Eugene Timmerman Jr., cousin Lisa Timmerman, and father-in-law Herschel Day. "
