Robert Von De Bur

Robert J. "Bob" Von De Bur, 85, died Tuesday, February 26, 2019 at his residence. A Memorial Mass will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, March 9, at St. James Catholic Church, Decatur. There will be a private burial in Calvary Cemetery, Decatur. Memorials may be given to the charity of the donor’s choice. Bob was born July 8, 1933 in Decatur, IL; the son of Joseph and Mae (Reedy) Von De Bur. He attended St. Teresa High School Decatur, IL1951 and the Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago, IL 1955 to 1960. He was a veteran U.S. Navy serving from 1951 to 1955. Bob’s career was in Sales and Marketing with various Railway Supply Industry companies 1956 to 2008. He is survived by his spouse Madonna, son Kurt (Kelly) Von De Bur of Seneca, SC; daughter Susan (John) Johanson of Mount Prospect, IL; grandchildren Kevin (Katie), Kelsey and Keith Von De Bur, Maggie, Jeff and Mark Johanson; nieces Carole Ann (Doyle) Alexander, Marybeth (Kevin) Arduini, nephew Mark (Sandra) Sarafian; Also surviving are Madonna's children: Mark Mundy, Laurie (Britt) Brown, Christopher Mundy, Melissa (Tony) Girard, and Lizbeth (Tim) Swords; grandchildren Garrison Brown, Connor Brown, Ashlea (Austin) Spears, Anna (Kevin) Heuke, Lindsey (Joe) Albin and Olivia Swords; great-grand children Lincoln, Vera and Maddox Heuke, Jude and Colette Spears Bob is preceded in death by his parents; spouse Nancy (Burkhardt) Von De Bur, and one sister Ruth Ann (Von De Bur) Sarafian.
