Robert E. "Bob" Carter, 52, of Decatur, IL, passed away at 6:03 p.m. Sunday, May 13, 2012, Decatur Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 17, at Brintlinger & Earl Cerro Gordo Funeral Home, with visitation one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Burial will be in La Place Cemetery, La Place, IL. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. Bob was born April 24, 1960, in Monticello, IL, the son of Robert Dean and Patsy Ann (Gillespie) Carter. Bob was a laborer for former employers. He was an avid fan of the Chicago Bears, NASCAR, and fishing. Surviving are his mother Patsy Ann Carter of Cerro Gordo, IL; brother Larry D. Carter of Cerro Gordo, IL; sister Carolyn K. (Bruce) Stoddard of Monticello, IL; brother Adrian Allen (Vickie) Carter of Monticello, IL; several nieces and nephews; and great nephew Angel Ryleigh. Bob was preceded in death by his father Robert, brother David, and nephews Cade and Carson. "
