Robert Michael Buchen Sr. passed away on Tuesday, November 12, 2024, in Lincoln, Illinois.
Visitation will be 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM on Wednesday, November 20, 2024, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home in Decatur. Funeral Service will be 10:00 AM on Thursday, November 21, 2024, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 3955 Lourdes Dr, Decatur, IL, 62526.
Robert was born on August 23, 1952, the son of Robert W. and Dolores (McCrady) Buchen. He married Joan Roof, who preceded him in death on July 19, 2009. Wonderfully, God blessed Robert with a great love again in his wife Linda Algar, whom he married on December 11, 2010.
After proudly serving his country in the United States Army, Robert spent many years working at Adolf Meyer Zone Center before gladly settling into his role as a barber at North Gate Barber Shop. He enjoyed taking walks, building and fixing things, and spending his time nurturing his spiritual life at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
Robert is survived by his loving wife, Linda; children: Doug (Anna) Buchen, Robert Buchen Jr, Tanya Gaddy, and Fred Buchen; brothers: Ben Rohr and Jim Buchen; and 11 grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents; late wife Joan; brothers: John and Steve; and grandson, Jordan Johnson.
