Robert Earl Brame, 90, of Warrensburg, IL, passed away March 5, 2024, at Vonderlieth Living Center, Mt. Pulaski, IL. Robert was born to Earle and Esther (Coffey) Brame on March 13, 1933, in Milmine, IL. He grew up on farms in Piatt and Macon Counties and graduated from Warrensburg- Latham High School in 1951 and from Millikin University in 1955. Robert proudly served in the US Navy from 1955-1957 and then settled on his childhood farm north of Warrensburg where he raised hogs and harvested 45 crops, retiring in 2003.
Funeral service will be 10:00 AM, Monday, March 11, 2024 at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur. Visitation will be 5:00 – 7:00 PM, Sunday, March 10 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Illini Cemetery, Warrensburg. To honor his life in agriculture, memorials in Robert’s honor may be made to the Warrensburg-Latham FFA or to the Meridian Ag Foundation.
Robert loved to travel and study maps. He spent many winter months in Fort Myers Beach, Florida and his love of cars led to many summer trips to Road America racetrack in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin. Robert was a former member of the Macon County Farm Bureau and the Juvae Jazz Society. He served on the Warrensburg-Latham School Board for 16 years.
Robert married Joanne (Williams) Galloway on December 6, 1964, and together they had two daughters. Joanne preceded him in death in 2001. In 2004, he married Patricia Lichtenberger.
Robert is survived by his wife, Patricia; daughters Pamela (Randy) McMillen of Warrensburg and Sheila (Chad) Rappe of Macon; grandchildren Macy (Tyler) Rueff, Evan (Abston) Rappe, Alex (Rylee) Rappe, Kyle McMillen, and Cole Rappe; sister, Karen Raiha; sisters- in-law, Mary Jane Fornwalt, Juanita Wilson, Carolyn (Marvin) Rau and Susan Lichtenberger; brothers-in-law; Walter (Maria) Williams, Roger (Sharon) Williams, David (Cynthia) Lichtenberger and Patricia's sons; Steve (Jennifer) Harvey and Doug (Sheryl) Harvey.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Joanne, sister, Mary E. Koonce, brothers-in-law, Carroll Koonce, Arnold "Butch" Raiha, Donald "Butch" Fornwalt, Robert Curtis Wilson, and Roger Lichtenberger.
