Robert R. Black, Sr., 87, of Decatur, died Monday, July 17, 2017, at Decatur Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, July 19, at New Beginnings Church of God. Visitation will be 5-8 P.M. Tuesday, July 18, at the church. Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Casual attire is requested by the family. Burial will be in Steenbergen Cemetery, Mt. Pulaski. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to New Beginnings Church of God or to Robert’s wife, Audrey.Robert was born March 5, 1930, in Harristown, the son Albert Lysander and Mildred Maud (Crawford) Black, Sr. He married Audrey Mae Tipsword November 5, 1980, in Decatur. Robert worked at Decatur Auto Wrecking for several years, and was co-owner of Black Brothers Auto Wrecking from 1965-1977. He had resided in Grand Bay, Alabama for 14 years, and returned to Decatur in 2001. Robert was a fan of the Cubs and Nascar, especially Dale Earnhardt, Jr., enjoyed helping his grandkids, and loved gardening. He was a member of the Elks in Pascagoula, Mississippi, and served as the Exalted Ruler. Robert is survived by his wife Audrey of Decatur; children: Barb Beasley and husband Van of Macon, Fran Morris and husband Jerry of Cerro Gordo, Ron Black and wife Brenda of Decatur, Randy Black and wife Kim of Decatur, Robert Roy Black, Jr. of Latham, Debbra Crain and husband Dan of Decatur, and Mark D. Elliott of Decatur and companion Patti Benton of Moweaqua; sister Elaine Gossett of Scottsdale, AZ; 24 grandchildren and 14 great great grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his parents, son Keith Elliott, and two brothers Major and Albert, Jr. "
