Robert Babcock

Robert Dean Babcock, 88, of Charleston, IL passed away on Thursday, September 20, 2018 at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center, Mattoon, IL. Graveside services will be held Friday, September 28, 2018 at 2:00pm at the Cerro Gordo Cemetery, Cerro Gordo, IL. Robert was born on July 20, 1930 in Decatur, IL, the son of Alfred Marques and Ada (Pryor) Babcock. He married Mary Evelyn Riley on August 10, 1955 in Decatur, IL. Robert was an Air Force veteran serving in Korea and was a sheet metal worker for Caterpillar. He is survived by one daughter, Deborah Babcock-Golchini of Orlando, FL; one son, Michael and wife, Lindsay Babcock of Charleston, IL; one brother Roy C. and wife, Mona Babcock of Forsyth, IL, and five grandchildren; Cameron and Logan Golchini of Orlando, FL, Madeline, Lilly, and Evelyn Babcock of Charleston, IL. Robert is preceded in death by his parents, wife, one brother, Lorin, and two sisters, Rowena Seaman and Mildred V. Hodge.
