Rob Shelley, 53, of Decatur, IL, passed away Wednesday, May 31, 2017, at Decatur Memorial Hospital.Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m., Saturday, June 3, 2017, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, with visitation 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, June 2, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Illini Cemetery, Warrensburg, IL. Memorials may be made to Ruff-Inn-It in Mt. Zion, IL.Rob was born November 16, 1963 in Decatur, IL, the son of Ted W. and Carolyn S. (Hardy) Shelley. He worked as a camp counselor at The Berkshires Massachusetts and most recently was a chef at Millikin University. Rob loved swimming, water skiing, fishing, camping, and enjoyed throwing great parties. He was president of Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, Tampa Chapter, for 3 years.Survivors include: husband Kirk Schwartz of Decatur; father Ted Shelley of Decatur; mother Carolyn Shelley of Ocala, FL; brother Tim Shelley of Chillicothe, IL; nieces Mallory Mathias and Brette Shelley; and his loving dog Louise.He was preceded in death by his brother Damon Shelley, and his grandparents on both sides.
