Richard W. Woods, 73, of Decatur, IL, passed away Monday, April 4, 2016, at his residence.Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, April 11, 2016, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL, with visitation 6 to 8 p.m., Sunday, April 10, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Macon County Memorial Park, Harristown, IL.Memorials may be made to American Diabetes Association.Richard was born March 12, 1943 in Detroit, MI, the son of Jesse Woodrow and Edith (Murray) Woods. He married Mary Lou Howse on August 22, 1964 in Shelbyville, IL. Richard worked for 29 years at Firestone before retiring in 1993. He enjoyed working on old cars and taking naps with his Yorkie-Poo Mitzie.He is survived by his wife of 51 years: Mary Lou; children: Chris W. (Sheree) Woods of Rocklin, CA, Steven T. (Kimberly) Woods of Decatur, Michelle D. (Thomas) McCoy of Decatur; grandchildren Crystal McCoy of Nashville, TN, Alyssa McCoy of Glendale Heights, IL, Sara Woods of Decatur, Ashlyn Woods of Rocklin, CA, Stefan Woods of Decatur, Jeremy McCoy of Decatur, Shelby Woods of Rocklin, CA.He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters.
