Richard D. Tuttle, 89, of Cerro Gordo passed away peacefully on October 17, 2025 at his home surrounded by his family.
Visitation will be 10:00 – 11:00 AM, Saturday, October 25, 2025 at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur. Funeral will be 11:00 AM Saturday at the funeral home in Decatur. Burial will be in Cerro Gordo Cemetery.
Richard was born November 29, 1935 in Decatur, the son of Benjamin and Velma (Long) Tuttle. He married Ethel Ryder on December 7, 1955 and she preceded him in death on May 21, 2024. Richard proudly served our country in the US Air Force. He later worked for Caterpillar and Decatur Public School District until his retirement. He was an active member of Oakley Brick Church of the Brethren.
Surviving are his daughter, Pamela (Gene) Dugan of Decatur; sons: Richard Tuttle of Cerro Gordo, William (Chris) Tuttle of Dalton City, and Rocky (Kim) VanHoutan of Clarksville, TN; grandchildren: Gerald (Denise) Dugan of Monticello, Matthew (Karen) Dugan of Decatur, Erica Tuttle of Kansas City, MO, Michael (Morgan) Tuttle of Cerro Gordo, Jenna (Matt) Hall of Cookeville, TN, Kindra (Donnie) Beiler of Mt. Zion, Kelsey (Brad) Held of Grove City, OH, and Kortney (Austin) Clark of Mt. Zion; and 24 great-grandchildren
Richard was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Ethel; and sisters: Lois Teitsord and Pauline Willis.
