Richard E. "Rick" Toth, age 73, passed away, surrounded by loved ones, on Wednesday, May 14, 2014. He was born on July 22, 1940, in Urbana, IL, son of the late Prof. Edmund F. and Mrs. Georgena Toth. Rick is survived by his loving wife and best friend Carol; daughter Anne and her husband Tristan; granddaughter Alexandra; son Jim and his wife Ashley; brother Col. James and his wife Molly; and a large group of extended family and friends who loved him dearly. Rick was an inventor, an engineer, and a CEO, who ran several successful businesses over the course of his career. Most recently, he founded Allomet Corporation, based on technology that he developed and patented, and continued to serve on its board of directors until shortly before his passing. Earlier in life, he distinguished himself as an officer in the U.S. Army, serving on active duty in Vietnam. Friends are welcome to join a graveside ceremony at the Illini Cemetery, near the Illini Congregational Church, 5187 North Kenney Road (Co. Rt. 21), 1 mile west and 1 1/2 miles south of Warrensburg, Illinois, at 3pm on Sunday, June 1st. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Lung Association, 55 W.
