Richard S. Taylor, 61, of Houston, TX, formerly of Decatur, passed away Friday, December 29, 2017, in Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center in Houston, Texas.Please dress warm and casual for a Graveside service for family and friends at 12:00 noon Saturday, January 6, at Fairlawn Cemetery, Decatur, IL. A reception will follow at Doherty’s Pub and Pins from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. to celebrate Richard’s life.Richard was born August 5, 1956 in Decatur, IL, the son of F. Stanley and Bernice (Wagner) Taylor. He married Christine Hughes in 1984 in Decatur.Richard worked for NexGen Pharma in Texas and formerly for Taylor Pharmacal Company in Decatur. He served as Director of Regulatory Affairs and was on the Board of Directors at Taylor Pharmacal. Richard was a member of Commodore Stephen Decatur Yacht Club and an Official with the Decatur Swim Club. He enjoyed playing golf.Richard is survived by his wife Christine of Houston, TX; Father F. Stanley Taylor of Houston, Texas; Daughters Laura Taylor of Houston, TX, Natalie (Cody) McGrew of Dallas, TX, Anna Taylor of Houston, TX.He was preceded in death by his mother Bernice M. (Wagner) Taylor.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Community Foundation of Macon County. "
