Richard Seitz

Richard Lee Seitz, 79, of Cerro Gordo, IL, passed away Monday, May 22, 2017, at Decatur Memorial Hospital, Decatur, Macon County, IL.Cremation rites will be accorded. Private family graveside services will be held at a later date in Cerro Gordo Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Cerro Gordo United Methodist Church or DMH Hospice.Richard (Dick) was born August 29, 1937 in Decatur, Macon County, IL, the son of Leon Donald and Anna May (Rhoderick) Seitz. He married Beverly J. Albert on January 18, 1958 in Cerro Gordo, Piatt County, IL.Richard was a member of Cerro Gordo United Methodist Church. He served in the Illinois National Guard, was a former Truck Driver with Local 279 and Farmer, served on the Cerro Gordo Board of Trustees, Piatt County Jr. Fair, and was involved with ITPA. Dick enjoyed Tractor Pulls, John Deere and Fords.He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Beverly of Cerro Gordo; children Renee (Jim) Crawley of Cerro Gordo, Brant (Diana) Seitz of Milmine, Darren Seitz of Oakley, IL; grandchildren Gavin Crawley, JC (Niki) Crawley, Lacey Crawley, Tabitha Seitz; step grandchildren Marsha (Aaron) Kirby, Gregory (Carrie) Gisinger, Lorin Gisinger; four step great grandchildren; sister Marian Cruse of Arlington, TX; brother Edward (Sherry) Seitz of Pataskala, OH.He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers John and Donald.
