Richard (Dick) Mooney, 79, passed away at the Hospice Care Center in Orange City, FL on Friday, December 27, 2013 after a short illness. Visitation will be held Monday, January 6, 2014 at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL, from 5:00pm to 7:00 pm, with a prayer service at 4:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 7, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Decatur, IL. Burial will be in Illini Cemetery, Warrensburg, IL, with military rites. Memorials may be made to Charity of Choice. Richard was born on March 4, 1934, the son of John and Frances Mooney of Warrensburg, IL. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving in the Korean War from 1953-1956. He retired from Caterpillar Tractor Company after 30 years and moved to DeLeon Springs, FL in 1997 with his wife Judy. Richard is survived by his wife of 40 years, Judy of DeLeon Springs, FL; son Darrin Mooney and daughter-in-law Kathy of Victorville, CA, granddaughter Adrienne Hulley and great-granddaughters Kaydence and Kimberlyn, all of Victorville, CA; grandson Zachery Mooney of Aurora, CO; brother Martin Mooney and sister-in-law Susan Mooney of Warrensburg, IL; brother Howard Mooney and sister-in-law Maxine Mooney of Decatur, IL; sister-in-law Patty Mooney of Warrensburg, IL, many nieces and nephews; and many, many good friends and neighbors. Richard was predeceased by four brothers: John, Bill, David and Lawrence. He was also predeceased by two sons: Daniel S. Mooney and Richard K. Mooney. "
