Richard Katchmar, 86, of Decatur, IL, died 8:13 P.M., Wednesday, July 9, 2008, at Decatur Memorial Hospital.Private graveside services will be held at a later date. Cremation rites will be accorded.Burial will be in Friends Creek Cemetery, Argenta, IL.Memorials may be made to St. Judes Childrens Hospital.Brintlinger & Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL, will be handling the arrangements.Richard was born August 15, 1921 in Livingston, IL, the son of Stephen and Mary (Novotney) Katchmar. He married Geraldine Jerry Hoover and she preceded him in death in 1974. He later married Eileen Lindberg in 1976. She survives.Richard was a member of St. James Catholic Church. He worked for Marvel/Schebler, a division of Borg Warner for 36 years, retiring in September 1986. Richard was an WWII Army/Air Corp Veteran.He is survived by his wife Eileen of Decatur, IL; daughter Pamela S. Meidinger and son-in-law Tim Meidinger of Klamath Falls, OR; granddaughter Nicole Rhoades of Sacramento, CA.He was preceded in death by his first wife Jerry and daughter Monica Dross.Condolences may be left to the family at www.brintlingerandearl.com.
