Richard W. Helm, 46, of Oakley, IL, died 5:20 P.M., Thursday, February 25, 2010 in Champaign, IL.Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, March 2, 2010, at First Christian Church, Decatur, IL, with visitation from 4 to 8 P.M., Monday, March 1, at First Christian Church. Burial will be in West Frantz Cemetery, Oakley, IL. Arrangements are being handled by Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home.Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society or American Heart Association.Richard was born July 29, 1963, in Decatur, IL, the son of Gerald Warren and Kathleen Ilse (Miller) Helm. He married Joan Marie Edgecombe on June 6, 1980 in St. Charles, MO. Richard was a member of Oakley Brick Church of the Brethren. He was Vice-President at MPS Enterprises, Inc., working there for 20 years. Richard loved hunting, golfing, and taking care of his grandchildren.Richard is survived by his wife of 29 years, Joan; sons Nicholas S. Helm and wife Melissa S., Justin T. Helm, all of Oakley, IL; grandchildren Austin, Logan, Hannah, Jonathan; father and mother Warren and Katie Helm of Cerro Gordo, IL; brother Steve Helm of Lodi, CA; sister Karen Jones of Decatur, IN; brother Gerald Helm and wife Anita of Decatur, IL; special friend and business partner Pat (Shaw) Lochner. He was preceded in death by his grandparents. "
