Richard (Dick) Ballou Gray, born on October 14, 1932 was promoted to Glory, April 5, 2013. Born in Mount Vernon, Iowa, the son of Esther and Walter B. Gray, he graduated from Decatur High School, Class of 1950. Dick worked in the construction industry for 43 years and retired in 1997 from Christy-Foltz, Incorporated. His passion was to serve the Lord Jesus Christ in his daily life and was a long-standing member of Life Foursquare Church. He was most happy when he could lend a helping hand to others and always made the time to do so. Dick is survived by his wife Rita to whom he shared 57 years of marriage. Also surviving are his son Douglas Gray and Fiancee Vickie Davis of Maroa, Illinois, and daughter Kristin Hardy of Madison, Wisconsin. He was PaPa to Justin Gray, Amanda Hardy, Brandon Gray, Zachary Hardy and Allison Gray. He was Great Pawpaw to Natalee Hardy and a favorite uncle to many nieces and nephews. Dick was a beloved best-friend to "Rudy" and "Kitty-Sam." He was also a beloved mentor to Ted and Janet Robb of Champaign, Illinois. Dick was preceded to Glory by his parents, Esther and Walter B. Gray, and his sister, Marilyn Althoff. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association or Life Foursquare Church. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 9 at 10:00am at the Life Foursquare Church with visitation on Monday, April 8 from 5-7:00pm at Life Foursquare Church. Burial will be at the Boiling Springs Cemetery in Decatur. "
