Richard H. Dahman, 84, of Maroa, IL passed away on Saturday, February 28, 2015 at Carle Hospital in Urbana, IL. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 4, 2015 from 6-8:00pm with a prayer service at 8:00pm at the Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home in Decatur, IL. Graveside services will be held at at later date at Hewitt Cemetery, Lovington, IL. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Carle Auxiliary Guest House 611 W. Park St., Urbana, IL 61801. Richard was born on November 4, 1930 in Lovington, IL, the son of Phillip and Vivian (Timmons) Dahman. He married Patricia Sue Phelps on July 24, 1955 in Lovington, Il and she preceded him in death. Richard was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving in the Korean War. He was a painter and member of the Local Painter's Union #288. He was a very talented artist and loved to draw and paint. Richard is survived by his six children; Fletcher (Laura) Dahman of Honolulu, HI; Joe Dahman of Maroa, IL; Eric (Brenda) Dahman of Argenta, IL; Sue Busby of Chicago, IL; Colleen (Mike) Jordan of Mt. Zion, IL; and Maureen (Odell) Dubson of Clinton, IL. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren; Jeramie, Zac, Amy, Wes, Chad, Dana, Brad, Abbey, Kole, Paiton, Kelly, and Lisa; and twelve great-grandchildren. Richard was preceded in death by his parents, wife, three brothers; Bill, Bob, and John; and one sister, Kate. "
