Richard Wayne “Bronco” Bronson, 78, of Decatur, died Monday, October 31, 2016, at Fair Havens Christian Home.Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, November 3, 2016, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL, with visitation 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, November 2, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Cerro Gordo Cemetery, with military rites conducted by the Cerro Gordo American Legion Post #117.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.Richard was born September 21, 1938, in LaPlace, IL, the son of Orville Wayne and Beulah Beatrice (Jamison) Bronson. He was a graduate of the first class at Eisenhower High School and later was a truck driver for ADM, retiring after 15 years of service. Richard was a U.S. Navy veteran and was an avid St. Louis Cardinal fan.He is survived by his sons, Charles R. (Tammy) Bronson of Decatur and their sons Aaron W. Bronson and Zachary A. Bronson; and William W. “Bill” (Kim) Bronson of Clinton and their children Melissa Dimas, Mackenzie Bronson, Linsey Cyrulik, Sharena Dunham; and his 6 great grandchildren; sister, Maryetta Bronson Foley of Las Vegas, NV.Richard was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Connie Jo Bronson, sister Patricia Bronson Cunningham, sister Helen Bronson Snelson, granddaughter Brandy Bronson, and nephew Rick Snelson.
