Richard C. Bergandine, 91, of Mt. Zion, IL, passed away on September 10, 2025.
Visitation will be held 10:00 AM – 11:30 AM Tuesday, September 16, 2025, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home in Decatur, IL. A service will follow at 12:00 PM at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home. Burial will be held at Camp Butler National Cemetery in Springfield, IL.
Richard was born July 20, 1934, in Decatur, IL, the son of Marion H. and Olive (McGullion) Bergandine. He married Janet Marie Poe. After serving the United States in the U.S. Army, he became a Field Rep for the Social Security Office.
Surviving are his wife, Janet; children Susan Bergandine, David (Dana) Bergandine, Brent Bergandine, Douglas (Danielle) Bergandine; grandchildren Emily (Richard) Hughes, Elizabeth (Kyle) Rascher, Eliot (Noelle) Bergandine, Mary Bergandine, Ruth Bergandine, Olivia Bergandine, William Bergandine, Laura Bergandine, Ana Bergandine, Marco Bergandine; great-grandchildren Zoey Rascher, Harrison Rascher; step-great-grandchildren Aidan Hughes, Jackson Hughes, and Grace Hughes Rascher; and many nieces and nephews.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents, son Jeffrey, and brother Larry.
