Rex Goodman, 92, of Decatur, IL, passed away Friday, March 24, 2017 in his home. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 1, at Grace Baptist Church. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Friday, March 31, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur. Burial will be at Macon County Memorial Park, Harristown. Memorials may be made to Grace Baptist Church. Rex was born August 4, 1924, in Bement, IL, son of William and Theo (Root) Goodman. He married Kay E. Burns December 22, 1962, in Decatur. Rex was a member of Grace Baptist Church. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving in WWII where he received a Purple Heart Medal, five bronze stars, Good Conduct Medal, Asiatic Theatre Campaign ribbon, Bronze Service Arrowhead, 30 overseas service bars and a Victory ribbon. Rex retired from Caterpillar Tractor Co. in 1991. He enjoyed spending time with his kids, grandkids, and in his younger years he enjoyed hunting, fishing and golfing. Surviving are his wife of 54 years, Kay of Decatur, IL; children: Peggy (Larry) Pence of Fredericksburg, VA, Keith (Connie) Goodman of Philpot, KY, Candi Chapman, Shanda Grace, Autumn (Michael) Watts, Brett Goodman, and Bryan (Amy) Goodman, all of Decatur, IL; 25 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren. Rex was preceded in death by his parents, one son, one grandson, one great-grandson, five brothers, four sisters and first wife Bernice (Jobson). "
