Reverend Michael Roy Seidenstricker, Pastor Emeritus, 78, of Effingham, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, at his home.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 20, 2026, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Decatur, IL. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the church. Burial will take place in West Frantz Cemetery in Oakley, IL.
Michael was born on September 23, 1947, in St. Louis, MO, the eldest son of Roy and Lee (Randolph) Seidenstricker. He married Carol Sue Hamm on May 20, 1972, at the Oakley Brick Church of the Brethren; they were married for 52 years before she preceded him in death on February 19, 2025.
Michael was ordained on Jan 27, 2007, beginning his second career as a Lutheran Pastor. He faithfully served churches in Canton, Newton, Shumway, and other local congregations around Effingham.
Michael loved to sing and play piano, guitar, and accordion, often performing small concerts for his fellow residents in Effingham.
Known for his outgoingness and unique sense of humor, he enjoyed spending time with friends and making new ones.
Michael cherished time spent with his family. He is survived by his Children: Clint (Becky) Seidenstricker and Jason (partner Kellie Phillips) Seidenstricker; Grandchildren: Riley (Regan) Seidenstricker, Aidan Seidenstricker, and Logan Seidenstricker; Brothers: Randy (Jeannie) Seidenstricker, Steve Seidenstricker, and Larry Seidenstricker.
He was preceded in death by his parents Roy and Lee Seidenstricker and by his beloved wife Carol.
