Regina "Reggie" Waks (nee Geisler) passed away peacefully on January 1, 2015 at age 92, in Sacramento, California, with family members at her bedside. She battled with heart disease for many years. Reggie is survived by her three sons, Randy and his wife Debra of Clinton, Steve and his wife Mehrnaz of Sacramento, and Dennis and his former wife Jaclyn of Sacramento. She is also survived by her adoring grandchildren, Amy, Jason (wife Wendi), David, Michael, Kelly (husband Roel), Drew and Ashton, and two great-grandchildren, Sean and Dillon. She is also survived by her cousins Betty, Gary, Jeff, and Harlynne Geisler. Paul Waks, her husband, predeceased her in 1998 as did her parents. She was also preceded in death by her cousin Asher Geisler. Reggie was born in 1922 in Chicago, Illinois. Her parents were Nathan Geisler and Sadie Wertheimer Geisler. In 1944, she married Paul Waks and moved to Decatur. After raising her three sons, she worked as a real estate agent and a hairdresser. She also helped her husband in his business. Reggie was a strong believer in education and was very proud that all of her three sons, as well as three of her grandchildren, graduated from law school and became lawyers. Reggie loved music, which was a very big part of her life, and she loved to sing and she was a gifted singer. She often sang publicly and almost every day she sang to her family. She also loved to dance. She also enjoyed travelling, particularly taking winter vacations in Florida with her husband and three sons when they were young. She was a lifelong active member of Temple B'Nai Abraham in Decatur. Reggie moved from Decatur to California in 2001 to be closer to two of her sons and her youngest grandchildren. Her warm smile lit up the room and she will be truly missed by those who loved her. A funeral service will be held at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home in Decatur at 11:00 am Thursday, January 8, 2015, followed by a private interment. A lunch of consolation open to the public will be held at 1:00 pm on January 8, 2015 at Temple B'Nai Abraham. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Temple B'Nai Abraham or the Alzheimer's Association. "
