Reba Brown

Reba P. Brown, 97, of Springfield, IL, formerly of Decatur, IL, passed away Tuesday, October 3, 2017, at Lewis Memorial Christian Village, Springfield, IL.Memorial services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, October 14, at Sharon United Methodist Church with visitation one hour prior to services at the church. Private family inurnment will be held. Memorials may be given to Sharon United Methodist Church. Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Homes, Decatur, are assisting the family with the arrangements.Reba was born October 22, 1919, in Argenta, IL, daughter of Charlie and Minnie (Garrett) Parker. She married Paul Richard Brown on February 28, 1942, in Bowling Green, MO. He preceded her in death in 1971.Reba was a member of Sharon United Methodist Church and the Macon County Home Extension. She worked for Illinois Power in Decatur and Clinton until 1947, and then worked as an auditor for Goldblatt’s, retiring in 1981. Surviving are her sons: David (Andrea) Brown of Golden, CO, and Rick (Theresa) Brown of Springfield, IL; granddaughter: Tricia Brown of Louisville, KY, and niece: Janet Doss of Macon, IL.Reba was preceded in death by her parents, husband, granddaughter Marissa Brown and sister Leota Burge.
