Visitation: 6:00 PM on June 22, 2011 Funeral: 10:00 AM on June 23, 2011 Raymond Wells, Sr., 90, of Decatur, IL, died 5:10 P.M., Sunday, June 19, 2011, at his residence. Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M., Thursday, June 23, 2011, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL, with visitation 6 to 8 P.M., Wednesday, June 22, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Boiling Springs Cemetery, Decatur, IL. Memorials may be made to Resurrection Life Church, Decatur, IL. Raymond was born July 1, 1920, in Martinsville, IL, the son of Daniel Franklin Wells and Mae Curry. He married Opal Irene Harris on October 18, 1940, in Henderson, KY. She preceded him on September 28, 2008. Raymond worked as a Lead Man at A.E. Staley, retiring after 42 years of service. He was a member of Resurrection Life Church. He is survived by his children Paul Wells, Sharon Green, both of Decatur, IL, Raymond Wells of Monticello, IL, Larry Wells of Branson, MO, Robert Wells of Forsyth, IL, Barbara Whisnant of Atwood, IL, David Wells of Decatur, IL, Jim Wells of Forsyth, IL, Darlene Townsley of Cincinnati, OH. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife Opal, daughters Shirley Guntle and Karen Applegate. "
